The Long List of Ten Finalists for the 2020 Paraclete Poetry Prize

Mark S. Burrows, Luci Shaw, and Jon M. Sweeney, judges for the first Paraclete Poetry Prize wish to announce a “Long List of Ten Finalists.”

“We received a total of sixty-three entries,” says Sweeney, who is also the publisher at Paraclete Press, adding, “Luci and Mark, both accomplished poets, join me in saying: each one has been a pleasure to read, and our task of winnowing down to ten finalists has not been easy.”

The Long List of Ten Finalists for the 2020 Paraclete Poetry Prize is as follows. Each poet submitted a book-length manuscript of poems. The finalists are listed simply alphabetically, by poet’s last name.

Two will be chosen as winners on or before April 1, 2020. The first prize will be published this fall by Paraclete Poetry. The second prize will be published next spring.
