A Humble Spirit

A Humble Spirit

Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time on and forevermore. —Psalm 113:2

Prayer is a constant exchange of the human spirit with God. Consider the special condition of soul that is necessary for the spirit to reach out unhesitatingly to its Master living in God’s presence with no assistance from anyone else. (Evagrius Ponticus) Bernard Bangley, ed., A Little Daily Wisdom

Prayer of the Day for Eucharist
Heavenly Father, Jesus prayed that we would all be one, even as you and he are one. Only through your grace and mercy can I be in unity with my brothers and sisters. Many times I find myself working against that unity through my selfishness and self-importance. Forgive me Lord, and give me a humble spirit. Amen.
