Sound of his praise
Bless our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard, who has kept us among the living, and has not let our feet slip. —Psalm 66:8–9
I think when we come to prayer we are sometimes like little children sitting on Santa’s knee. We expect the benign Father to give us whatever we ask. We need to be child-like, but not childish. . . . Yes, ask and you will receive. But often it is not what we say we want, but what we really want that God gives us: that which is conducive to our true and lasting happiness. —M. Prayer of the Day
Dear Lord, today I ask for the strength to listen to your Word and follow the leading of your Holy Spirit. Help me to stand against things that are not of you, that I may bear the good harvest of your kingdom. Amen.
