The Song of the Spirit

The Song of the Spirit

The Lord protects the simple; when I was brought low, he saved me.  Return, O my soul, to your rest, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you. Psalm 116:6–7

The paths we are led to come from the unfathomable mind and love of God.  While our minds cause us to cry out, “Why?” we are rarely offered an explanation. Rather, we hear an invitation—the invitation to join in creation’s continuing dance to the Spirit’s song. —J. Brent Bill, Sacred Compass

Prayer of the Day
Lord, there are times when I portray myself as better than I am, like the teachers of the law that Jesus pointed out. I have no basis for this false confidence—just my fear and pride. Help me to humble myself and put my trust and confidence in you. Amen.
