You will never give up on me
I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” Psalm 16:2
Because we usually consider God as outside of us, we try to please God with external acts, like we would a judge at a gymnastics competition. This model teaches that external appearances are more important than the condition of the heart; that skills or performances are more important than interior motivations. Jesus teaches the opposite. —Amos Smith, Be Still and Listen
Prayer of the Day
Dearest Savior, I love this verse that says “a bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.” It is a reminder to me that your love is so great that no matter how useless I may think I am, you will never give up on me. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
