God will comfort you

God will comfort you

This activity is from Writing to God: 40 Days of Praying with My Pen by Rachel G. Hackenberg. Gather a notebook and a pen or pencil for today's breathing space.

I am worn down today,
fatigued in every muscle
I am not whole,
not even halfway.
It is brilliant, thrilling to be human . . .
oh but I strain against the ashes
the limits.
Heal me, Jesus, with the scars of your own brokenness.
Heal me . . .not to strength or perfection,
but to togetherness
to gentleness
to taking care of these ashes.
Be the wholeness that I am not
and remind this body of ashes
to rest my scars in yours
to live my broken life
fully.

God will comfort you in all seasons.

Read Ecclesiastes 3:1–20
There are days, years, and seasons sometimes when our humanity is evident and tangible in very painful ways. Let your written prayer give voice to the aches of your body, whether your issues are of physical health or spiritual fatigue.
