A Holy Week Reflection for PALM SUNDAY

A Holy Week Reflection for PALM SUNDAY

Salute the Life on all sides with palm branches. Shout, “Hosanna!

Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David. Hosanna in the highest!”

Make an avenue in their gathering green, a mile of waving banners, a thoroughway of praise.

With cries of acclaim, “O save us!” Follow him into the city. Jerusalem, do you still know what brings you peace? Ariel, are you still the lion of God? Once the spiritual heart, now but the Judean capital. Her urban dwellers and religious officials look askance at such devotion.

Some dressed as leaders crosscut through the crowds. Appalled, exclaim aloud, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

The Life turns to them, “I tell you if they keep silent, the stones will cry out.”

(Mark 11:9–11, Matthew 21:9–11, 15–16, Psalm 8:2, Luke 19:28–40)
