Feast of Laurence, Deacon & Martyr

Feast of Laurence, Deacon & Martyr

I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness; for you have exalted your name and your word above everything. —Psalm 138:2

The Eucharistic liturgy commemorates the way Jesus gathered all of Scripture into his hands, just as he did with Eucharistic bread, and offered it to. —Enzo Bianchi, Lectio Divina

Prayer of the Day
Dear Savior, let me be like a kernel of wheat that falls to the ground and dies, producing many seeds. Your servant Laurence gladly gave his life in your service. Lord, although I have no desire to share his fate, yet I turn myself over to you. Amen.
