Your favor as with a shield

Your favor as with a shield

O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I plead my case to you, and watch. For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover them with your favor as with a shield.   Psalm 5:3, 12

When my spirit is so troubled that it cannot rest,
When my heart is so pressed that it cannot breathe,
When my mind is so dark that it cannot see,
I will remember that you rolled the stone away. —Martin Shannon cj, According to Your Mercy

Prayer of the Day
I marvel, Lord Jesus, that you through whom all things were created, and by whom a single word had the power to collapse kingdoms, displayed such humility in rendering to Caesar “that which is Caesar’s,” and in declining to give offense to the non-believing government of Rome. Amen.
